After a long wait, David Beckham finally revealed the name of his new team, which will debut in the MLS in 2020.
The English legend announced in a short video on Twitter that his new team will be called Miami "Inter". The black logo with pink elements features two herons.
"Four years ago we dreamt of a soccer club. Today we proudly present the official name and logo of our new team - Club Internacional de Futbol Miami," he wrote after the video.
The last Miami team in the MLS played from 1997 to 2001, and since then the closest soccer club has been in Orlando.
When Beckham moved to Los Angeles Galaxy, the MLS offered him $25 million to buy the option to create his own team in the future. Usually, the cost to start a club is around $150 million. In 2014, he decided to take up this offer, and the Miami government granted him permission to build a new stadium in the outskirts.
The league has already confirmed that Inter Miami will play in the MLS starting from 2020 at the new stadium.
