The Dutch national team has been left without a head coach - 55-year-old Danny Blind has been relieved of his duties.
The legendary footballer of this country joined the Dutch national team in the summer of 2015. After an unexpected loss to Bulgaria, the Dutch Football Federation decided to part ways with the coach.
In yesterday's 2018 World Cup qualifier match, the Netherlands were defeated by Bulgaria with a score of 0-2. The finalists of the 2010 World Cup are currently in fourth place in their group and may miss out on the upcoming tournament in Russia in two years.
"We must respect Danny Blind for what he has done for this team throughout his career, but recently the results have been disappointing. We have complicated our chances of playing in Russia, so we were forced to let him go," said KNVB director Jean-Paul Decossaux about the decision to dismiss D. Blind.
