According to reports, Bayern Munich team wants to acquire Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal, who would replace Rafinha in the Bavarians' starting lineup next year.
AS claims that the German champions see Carvajal as a long-term replacement for Rafinha and will try to convince the defender to join their team at the end of the season.
The Spaniard has already spent a year in the Bundesliga, representing Bayer Leverkusen in the 2012-2013 season and was named the best right-back in the league. After a successful season in Germany, the player was brought back to Madrid for a fee of 6.5 million euros.
Michael Reschke, who now works as Bayern's technical director, held the same position at Leverkusen and was the one who attracted the player to the club in the summer of 2012.
Carvajal had hoped to never leave the Real team, but after Danilo's acquisition, the Spanish national team member is no longer a secure regular player and has begun to consider all possible options. His contract with the Madrid club is valid until 2020, and according to AS, the team will definitely not sell the defender for less than 30 million euros.
Bayern are convinced that if Danilo remains Benitez's first choice in the right-back position, they can persuade Carvajal to join their team. The first step towards acquiring the Spaniard was taken by the Bavarians this summer, right after the royal club bought Danilo. However, Carvajal rejected the offer at that time.
Carvajal is also of interest to Manchester United, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain teams, and after Branislav Ivanovic's poor performances, there have been rumors that Jose Mourinho is also looking for alternatives in this position.
