FBK owner Vladimir Romanov continues to pursue his plans to send promising young players to his acquired Edinburgh club - the latest player to move to Scotland is the Lithuanian national team defender.
Earlier, Saulius Mikoliūnas and Marius Kižys moved from Kaunas to "Hearts," and now following in their footsteps is 23-year-old D. Česnauskis, who spent the last five years in Moscow, Russia.
As the deadline for registering new players approached, Romanov acquired Česnauskis from "Lokomotiv" for an undisclosed fee and immediately transferred him to the "Hearts" club.
Edinburgh team coach John Robertson was pleased with this purchase, stating that Česnauskis is more experienced than the other two Lithuanians in the team.
"I am very pleased," said Robertson. "This guy is of a higher level than the other two youngsters from Lithuania. He comes from a good footballing family. We can't wait to see how he can be useful to us."
Deividas Česnauskis, like his brother Edgaras, started his career at Panevėžio "Ekranas," later playing for four years in the Moscow team "Dinamo," and in 2004 he moved to "Lokomotiv." Although he didn't establish himself in that team, he became the Russian champion with them last season.
