The Football Association of England announced yesterday that Chelsea forward Diego Costa is being suspended for three matches due to his behavior in last weekend's match against Arsenal.
Referees admitted they did not see the incident, but it was captured by television cameras.
The statement also clarified that the suspension was for strikes to the face of Laurent Koscielny and has nothing to do with the expulsion of Arsenal defender Gabriel.
Meanwhile, Gabriel's suspension for a subsequent red card was lifted today.
