David De Gea says he is once again enjoying life at "Manchester United" club, after a failed attempt to join the Madrid "Real" team this summer.
On the last day of the transfer window, the Spaniard was supposed to join the Madrid team, but due to untimely arranged documents, he remained in England.
During the negotiations, De Gea was removed from the main team and did not return until the moment he signed a new four-year contract on September 11.
"At that moment, I felt that the right decision would be to extend the contract. I am very happy now. I play for one of the biggest clubs in the world and I am loved by the fans. During the transfer window, anything can happen, and the situation can turn upside down in a minute. That's football. There are challenging and strange moments, but they help you strengthen and grow," the player told ESPN.
De Gea also thanked the "United" club fans for the warm welcome despite all the summer drama related to the player's future.
"Everything that happened in the first match when I returned was impressive. The way I was received at Old Trafford stadium made my hair stand on end. It's very difficult to describe the feelings I had that day. I am really grateful for that," said the Spaniard, praising the club's fans at the end of the conversation.
