The French national team announced that they have extended the contract with the national team coach Didier Deschamps.
The former Turin Juventus defender will lead his country's national team until the end of the 2018 World Cup.
The current contract was valid until 2016.
"The extension of the contract was initiated by president Noel Le Graet, and it was approved by the federation committee. The assistants Guy Stephan and Franck Raviot will continue to support the coach," it says in the statement.
D. Deschamps has been coaching France since 2012, when he replaced Laurent Blanc.
In last year's World Cup in Brazil, the French reached the quarterfinals, where they were defeated by the future champions, the Germans.
