In the midst of a crisis, the head coach of the club Didier Deschamps decided to resign from his duties after this weekend's 7th round of the French championship, where the team suffered a defeat against "Rennes" at home.

The 36-year-old D. Deschamps' team, once considered one of the favorites in "Ligue 1" before the season started, has already lost four matches and dropped to 15th place. Additionally, in the third qualifying round of the Champions League, they were defeated by Sevilla's "Betis" and failed to advance to the group stage.

Recently, many "Monaco" players expressed their dissatisfaction because the club failed to strengthen the team enough during the summer transfer window. Last week, the coach agreed with them and decided to step down after another defeat. His assistant Jean Petit will temporarily take over the coaching duties.

The former French national team defender Deschamps started his coaching career in 2001. In his second season as a young talented strategist, he managed to secure the second place in the French championship with a modest budget at "Monaco" and later finished third twice. In 2004, he also led the team to a surprising appearance in the Champions League final, where "Monaco" had to acknowledge the superiority of another underdog team, "Porto."
