Before the EURO 2020 Group F match between Germany and France, chaos was caused by a "Greenpeace" activist who landed in the stadium with a paraglider. As he landed, the activist interfered with the cables holding the cameras in the stadium, causing metal structures to fall onto the stands and onto the stadium pitch. Quick reactions prevented any injuries, including to the French coach. Reacting to the incident, the French national team coach D. Deschamps said: "You know, I'm sure this was planned in advance. My assistant and I hurried to hide from the falling debris. EURO 2020 was just a hair's breadth away from another tragedy on the field. People in the stands were injured, but things could have ended much worse. What can I add? It just shouldn't have happened." Later that same evening, the official "Greenpeace" Twitter account confirmed that it was a protest action aimed at one of the German automakers. The action had a clear demand: "Stop selling diesel and petrol cars that harm the world's climate."
