This summer, arriving in Italy, Diego Godin likened one of Milan's "Inter" and Madrid's "Atletico" clubs.
The 33-year-old veteran, after nine years in the Spanish capital, decided to look for new challenges in the "Serie A" championship. D. Godin has already joined a team that is currently leading in the Italian championship.
Communicating with the Spanish media, the Uruguayan revealed that at the "Inter" club, the team's coach Antonio Conte has complete control.
"This 'Inter' team is built around Conte, which automatically reminds me of Simeone and 'Atletico.' Both coaches have outstanding personalities. In this 'Inter' squad, Conte is the central figure," the defender revealed.
"Inter," having won five out of as many possible matches, currently has a two-point advantage over Turin's "Juventus."
"It is still too early to talk about the results. The 'Juventus' team has renewed, but has a lot of experience, which gives them an advantage.
"Inter" is an ambitious club, so there is no doubt that we will fight for all titles. However, at best, we are one of the candidates to win the 'Serie A' title this season," D. Godin added.
