Uruguayan national team defender Diego Godin says that his team's plans for the match against Egypt will not change because of one Mohamed Salah.
For a long time, it was unclear whether the "Liverpool" star would be able to appear in the first World Cup match, but now it seems that he will ultimately make it onto the field.
The return of the forward should ignite Egyptian hopes of achieving at least a draw, although their opponents from South America will be prepared for everything.
"We have been preparing for the World Cup for a long time and it does not depend on one player," said Godin.
"(Salah - ed. note) is a great player who can decide the outcome of a match, but we are also prepared - regardless of whether he can play or not."
"We are fully focused, preparing responsibly for Egypt, but we are preparing just as much as always."
The clash between Uruguay and Egypt will take place in Ekaterinburg this evening.
