At the beginning of this year, Davis Ikaunieks, a long-time forward for the national team of Latvia, who arrived in Šiauliai and quickly blended into the team, will no longer wear the yellow and black jersey next year.
Davis, who had a contract with the team from the Sun City that lasted another year, took advantage of a clause in the contract and decided to extend his career in Asia after receiving a better financial offer during the off-season. However, should circumstances not align properly, it was agreed that the player would return to Šiauliai.
During his time with the "Šiauliai" team, Davis played a total of 34 matches in the TOPsport A League, scoring as many as 18 goals and providing 3 assists, becoming the team's top scorer and the player with the most time spent on the pitch. The Latvian finished second in the league's top scorers list, just two goals behind Liviu Antal (from Vilnius "Žalgiris"), who topped the ranking.
Additionally, the footballer from the city of Kuldīga played 2 matches in the FPRO LFF Cup, where he scored 2 goals, and later made his debut with the team in the UEFA Conference League qualification stage.
The FA "Šiauliai" thanks the player for his significant contribution to the team's achievements, for being a role model both on and off the pitch, and wishes him all the best in his future career endeavors.
We remind you that the Šiauliai team will begin preparations for the 2025 season next Monday. More information about the team, its composition, and the expected changes will be reported next week.
