Danny Ings has rejected a new contract offer from Southampton, as reported by The Athletic journalist David Ornstein. According to the journalist, the "Saints" striker wants to test himself at a higher level. He has one year left on his current contract, so his departure is definitely possible. However, Southampton's offer is certainly tempting. If Ings accepts the offer, he would become the highest-paid player in Southampton's history. There were rumors earlier that Man City and Tottenham are interested in D. Ings, and the striker probably realizes that he could receive offers this summer. In the last two seasons, the Englishman scored 36 goals and provided 6 assists representing Southampton in the Premier League.
