D. Kuytas becomes the head coach of "Feyenoord" youth team

Rotterdam's "Feyenoord" announces that retired national striker Dirk Kuyt will become the head coach of the club's U-19 team starting next season. The 37-year-old Dutchman has been working as an assistant there until now. "I am really looking forward to it," Kuyt told the official "Feyenoord" website. "This season, helping technical director Martin van Geel, I got to know the club from a different perspective. I often visited 'Varkenoord' and was interested in youth training, which is an important part of the club." "I spoke to all the coaches to get to know them and learn their methods better. There were several options, but coaching the U-19 team with Cor Adriaanse, I immediately felt the best feeling. I am sure I can pass on my qualities and experience to them, as I did with young players in the last two seasons as a player." Experiencing a colorful playing career, Kuyt is currently aiming to obtain a UEFA-approved A coaching license. Throughout his career, he played a total of 782 matches, scoring 281 goals and making 149 assists.
