Dejan Lovren, 33, gives up his place in the Croatian national team to younger defenders.
The center-back has officially ended his career in the "Zenit" ranks.
In the Croatian national team, D. Lovren played 78 matches, scoring 5 goals. He finished 2nd in the World Cup with the Croatians in 2018, and won bronze medals in 2022.
Having left Zenit in St. Petersburg, the defender currently represents the Lyon team.
The Croatian national team is facing a serious challenge at the beginning of summer - the UEFA Nations League final four.
