"Liverpool" defender Dejan Lovren, who recently regained his place in the starting lineup, insists that he is ready to become a leader of the team.
Last July, the Croatian arrived at Anfield from "Southampton" for £20 million and has so far struggled on the pitch, losing the trust of former manager Brendan Rodgers due to mistakes made in September.
However, Lovren was given a chance when Mamadou Sakho got injured in a "Premier League" match where "Liverpool" beat "Manchester City" 4-1, and the defender performed admirably.
"There have been ups and downs, but the most important thing is the present," said the footballer.
"I feel settled and happy in this club. We are playing well."
"In life, not only in this club, I have faced many challenges, so this is another school where I can learn. When I find myself in difficult situations, I am surrounded by great supporting people."
"I came here to be a leader and I still feel capable of leading the team forward. I am a person who likes to speak and shout during matches. If I only thought about myself, I wouldn't be here."
Lovren will make his 50th appearance for "Liverpool" tonight in the UEFA Europa League match against "Bordeaux."
