D. Luizas: "Chelsea" wanted to keep me, but I chose "PSG"

David Luiz revealed that London's Chelsea offered him a new contract, but he himself decided to move to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Brazilian national team defender moved to the ranks of the French champions this summer for 51 million euros, becoming the most expensive defender of all time.

The 27-year-old footballer, who recently shone in the UEFA Champions League matches against Barcelona, is happy with his move to Paris.

"Chelsea offered me a new contract and wanted me to stay, but I decided to come here," the Brazilian told Globo Esporte. "I liked the plan proposed by PSG and it was the most appropriate moment to leave."

"I was very happy at Chelsea, I won two titles in Europe and the FA Cup with the club."

"I'm really doing well. I played for such a big club like Chelsea, and now I have another opportunity to represent another great team. I'm enjoying it."

Luiz also said that he is happy to see his former club performing well in England and said that the current goal of his team is to win the Champions League.
