Speaking about press reports linking him with a move to another club, Dries Mertens says that he has no intention of leaving "Napoli."
This summer, the Belgian national team winger is interested in "Inter" Milan, while during the winter transfer window, "Schalke" wanted to see him among their ranks.
Under Rafa Benitez's guidance, Mertens did not always make it into the starting lineup, so with the departure of Real Madrid for training, the football player claims that he wants to continue playing in Naples until his contract ends in 2018.
"I will not leave Napoli. We are working on occupying higher positions," said the 28-year-old Belgian.
"Three years remain until the end of my contract, so I am not going anywhere. I like representing this team, and the fans also want me to play here."
Last season, Mertens scored 6 goals in 31 matches.
