During the last season, Dries Mertens, shining with the brightest colors, revealed in an interview that the rise of such a team was only possible thanks to coach Maurizio Sarri.
"Napoli" has recently posed a serious challenge to Turin's team "Juventus" for the Italian champions title, and this season they have been in the top position for a long time, only narrowly behind the current leaders Milan's "Inter."
D. Mertens revealed that M. Sarri squeezes everything out of the team. The footballer stated that this strategist can turn average players into top-class players.
"We are not in the best situation right now, but this is the most appropriate time to see the true strength of our team," said D. Metens.
"We have a lot of hard training and never give up. We don't feel tired, but during the season, there are so many matches that you simply can't win all of them. We still have many matches ahead of us and at the end of the season, we will see who comes out on top.
"In my opinion, we wouldn't be in the position we are in now if it wasn't for Sarri. He is responsible for our game, makes decisions, and changes our team. Since the day he appeared in our club, he has managed to turn simple players into top-class footballers," added the Belgian.
