D. Reimaris: "We will definitely have intense battles in the semi-finals

“Kauno Žalgiris” arena footballers will face Vilkaviškis “Brooklyn” team in the TopSport Futsal A League semi-finals. The first semi-final match awaits the teams today, March 6, at 9 pm, in Kaunas sports hall.

In the quarterfinals, the Žalgiris team met with “Kėdainiai United” team. Both meetings ended with victories for the Kaunas team. In the first match, “Kauno Žalgiris” defeated Kėdainiai with a score of 7:3, while the second match ended with a score of 9:1.

On Wednesday, “Kauno Žalgiris” and “Brooklyn” arena footballers will start the semi-final matches for a spot in the Futsal A League final. According to longtime “Kauno Žalgiris” player Deividas Reimaris, the team's preparation for the semi-finals is going smoothly, and the Žalgiris players will be well-prepared.

“We analyzed all of Brooklyn's strengths that could cause us problems, as well as their weaknesses. We will have done our homework and hope for the first victory in the first match,” said D. Reimaris.

This season, “Kauno Žalgiris” and “Brooklyn” team have faced each other three times. In the regular season, Žalgiris defeated the Vilkaviškis team twice, while in the LFF Futsal Cup matches, the teams met in the final - with “Kauno Žalgiris” clinching the trophy.

“This match will be the toughest of all our meetings with the Brooklyn team. The opponents will have analyzed our game after all the matches, and we will definitely expect tough games in the first semi-final,” said a longtime team player.

The other semi-final pair, “Akmenės kraštas” and Jonava's “Vikings,” have already played their first match. The first victory in these matches was achieved by the “Vikings” team.

“Speaking of the other semi-final pair, both “Akmenės kraštas” and “Vikings” are demonstrating their best athletic form today. Both teams make excellent use of their foreign players' strengths, which has led them to start the knockout stage with victories,” shared D. Reimaris.

In the TopSport Futsal A League semi-final stage, teams will play until two wins. On March 6, the Žalgiris team will await the support of their fans at the Kaunas sports hall, and on March 10, “Kauno Žalgiris” and “Brooklyn” will meet in Vilkaviškis.
