"Manchester City" defender David Silva enjoys playing under new coach Pep Guardiola and believes that the excellent start to the season is a huge credit to the strategist.
The former coach of "Barcelona" and "Bayern" Munich gave Silva a less attacking role, but the Spaniard seems to be doing great in it.
The whole team is also not far behind, having won 10 out of their 11 matches this season.
"It is true that sometimes I have to play a few steps back and help build attacks," Silva said.
"However, Guardiola gives me the freedom to attack, to be close to the opponent's goal, and to create opportunities, which is what I truly enjoy. He gives me a lot of freedom and I am very happy in this position."
"The coach wants us to control the game, create opportunities, and be ready to handle the opponents' counterattacks. We are doing great and I hope it continues that way."
Silva himself has contributed one assist in five "Premier League" matches.
