Madrid's "Atletico" announced on their official website that they have extended their contract with head coach Diego Simeone until 2017.
This season, the "Rojiblancos" team is currently in second place in the Spanish "Primera" championship, leaving behind Madrid's "Real." However, they have already finished their performance in the Europa League.
D.Simeone became the first coach in "Atletico" history to win the Europa League tournament and the UEFA Super Cup.
The coach, who has led the Madrid team to victories for the past four years, was previously linked with a move to "Real" Madrid, London's "Chelsea," and Inter Milan.
