D. Simeone: Match against "Sevilla" does not change my opinion about "Real"'s capability

The head coach of Madrid's "Atletico" team, Diego Simeone, believes that they are facing difficult matches at the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium, as the recent defeat of Madrid's "Real" team does not indicate that their team is in crisis.

On Wednesday, Julen Lopetegui's team suffered their first defeat in the Spanish championship - a painful loss to the "Sevilla" team with a score of 0:3. Meanwhile, Atletico, who have had a tough start to the season, are already only two points behind the leaders.

In this season, D. Simeone's team has already surpassed J. Lopetegui in the UEFA Super Cup match, where they celebrated a victory with a score of 4:2. In these matches, as well as in Seville, individual mistakes in defense led to the defeat. Atletico will try to capitalize on this weakness of their opponents in today's match.

"I don't just look at the last matches of the Madrid Real team. Yes, they had a poor first half in Seville, but such things can happen, as Sevilla, especially at home, is a great team," Simeone told journalists.

"Madrid has a new style of play and playing against them is not easy. When they control the ball, gaining confidence is quite difficult.

Madrid's Real has already shown that they can easily change their style of play and incorporate players like Bale and Asensio into it.

These players are powerful in their positions, they can break into fast attacks, as they can always expect passes from players like Kroos, Modric, and Ramos, who see the field very well.

I never evaluate opponents based on their recent matches. I evaluate them based on their playing philosophy and potential. We know that we are facing a match against one of the best clubs on the planet," the strategist added.

The Madrid derby will start today at 21:45 Lithuanian time.
