D. Simeone: "Nothing has changed in Madrid - Modric is their most important player"

On this evening in the capital of Spain, a clash between two eagle teams will take place - "Atletico" will host Madrid's "Real" footballers at home.

Showing better play, Madrid's "Real" now only has a two-point deficit from "Atletico", so both capital teams will fight today for the second position on the tournament table.

Speaking at a press conference, "Atletico's" victories mentor Diego Simeone mentioned that even with Cristiano Ronaldo gone, Madrid's "Real" did not lose their most important team player.

"Luka Modric is their most important player. Nothing has changed in that team," said D. Simeone.

Against his former team today will stand Madrid's "Real" goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. Despite the anger of "Atletico" fans, D. Simeone is grateful to the Belgian for his time in the "Atletico" team.

"I don't agree with those people who have expressed their feelings about him. He is a great goalkeeper who has given us a lot and now has a great career," the strategist said.

D. Simeone will meet with the current coach of Madrid's "Real" during the time he works at the "Atletico" club. D. Simeone claims that he still maintains good relations with Santiago Solari.

"I have known him for a long time. I coached him when he played his final years at 'San Lorenzo' club. We are Argentineans and we have a certain friendship. He has already shown that he has the quality to work in a club like 'Real'," added D. Simeone.
