The head coach of Madrid's Atletico, Diego Simeone, has no doubt about the talent of his protege Saul Niguez and asserts that he has all the chances to become the best midfielder in the world in the future.
The 22-year-old Spaniard has been playing top-level football in the ranks of "Rojiblancos" for the past two seasons. S. Niguez scored a sensational goal against Bayern Munich last season, and the team represented by him, "Atletico," reached the UEFA Champions League final.
S. Niguez is another young footballer who has emerged under the coaching of D. Simeone in the club.
"From the moment he arrived at the club, I said that I want to win not only titles with him, which we have achieved, but also to give the opportunity for the young players of this club to shine in the team," said D. Simeone.
"Saul, Koke, Lucas Hernandez, and Thomas were the guys who always worked hard since the day I arrived here. Saul has all the chances to become the best midfielder in the world one day. He can shoot, pass, control the ball, and play with his head. I am very happy about him," added the coach.
This season, S. Niguez has already played 37 matches, scored five goals, and provided two assists.
