D. Simeone: "The only way out - patience"

Diego Simeone doesn't make a tragedy out of the results of the last few weeks.

Last summer, the "Atletico" team, which underwent significant changes in composition, suffered another defeat on Sunday night in the Spanish championships. After this failure, the "rojiblancos" players dropped to the seventh position and increased their gap to the leaders to six points.

"Atletico" has only achieved one victory in the last seven matches – at home against the "La Liga" underdog, Barcelona's "Espanyol" team.

"Changes will happen sooner or later – instead of continuing to shake the rattle, we will start hitting the goal. We need to remain patient and understand that we are in a transitional period," said D. Simeone after the lost match against "Barcelona."

"I am the person in the team with the least amount of patience, but I understand our situation. There have been huge changes in the team, so we need time.

We compete in all matches. The league is not lost – we have a long season ahead of us. In each match, we create enough chances, but so far we have not been able to convert them into goals," continued the coach.

When asked about Lionel Messi's performance and winning goal, D. Simeone replied: "He found space near our penalty area and scored a great goal. When the match is open, you can't avoid such spaces, and Messi is ice-cold."
