Madrid "Atletico" coach Diego Simeone is happy with the partnership formed between Antoine Griezmann and Fernando Torres, saying that the unnoticed work of the latter allows the Frenchman to shine.
Yesterday in the match against San Sebastian's "Real Sociedad", Griezmann scored his sixteenth goal of the season, and "Atletico" extended its unbeaten streak to seven matches.
The team from the capital maintains realistic hopes of climbing to the top of the standings.
"Griezmann once again scored goals. That's exactly what we needed from him," said Simeone.
"We are delighted that he has regained good form and we hope that he will continue to rise. He still has a lot ahead of him."
"Torres also looks good to me. He performs the functions that the team needs,"
"He makes opposing defenders work harder, which gives more space to Griezmann, as he usually attracts more attention."
"Atletico" currently surpasses "Valencia" in fourth place by four points.
