D. Šimkus remains at FA 'Šiauliai' club

Last weekend, FA "Šiauliai," which started its cycle of friendly matches, reached another agreement – Domantas Šimkus will continue to wear the yellow and black jersey in the coming season.

The footballer returned to his hometown in the summer of 2023 and has already become one of the key pieces of the Šiauliai team puzzle. In the same year, the footballer helped the yellow and black team win historic bronze medals in the "TOPsport A league" and reached the final of the LFF Cup tournament.

The football academy graduate has played a total of 52 official matches in just under two seasons, and last year he became one of the players with the most minutes on the pitch. The player also competed in the first stage of the UEFA Conference League.

"I am glad to have stayed in my hometown. From the very first day I returned to Šiauliai, I felt at home – familiar people, familiar surroundings, so that probably pushed me to remain in the yellow and black ranks. Last season was not what we all expected, so we still have unfinished business. The City of the Sun has a wonderful football community and fans, so I want to do everything for them so that we can all enjoy the results together again. There is a lot of hard work ahead and an even more interesting and memorable time as we grow together. Forward, Šiauliai!" said D. Šimkus, who stayed in Šiauliai.
