D. Stankevičius will continue to play for 'Sūduva'

The defensive midfielder Darius Stankevičius will represent Marijampolė's "Sūduva" in 2025, but he will do so with a different status. The midfielder, who was loaned from Vilnius "Žalgiris" in 2023 and 2024, signed a contract with the Marijampolė club today and is now exclusively part of "Sūduva".

The 20-year-old midfielder played 28 matches in the "TOPsport A League" last year, scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assists. In terms of minutes played (1610), D. Stankevičius ranked fourth among young Lithuanian footballers in the league.

"I am happy to become a full-fledged member of 'Sūduva'. The club has given me a lot of confidence and opportunities to grow as a player, so the decision to stay here was not difficult," said D. Stankevičius. "I feel good both on and off the field, and my teammates and coaches help me pursue the highest goals. I want to continue contributing to the team’s victories and do everything to make the season as successful as possible."

Continuing preparations for the 2025 season, "Sūduva" won their first friendly match against Alytus "Dainava" 1-0, and drew 0-0 in the second match against "Šiauliai". The third friendly match for the Marijampolė team will be held on February 1 at 1 PM against Vilnius region's "TransINVEST".
