„Liverpool“ coach Brendan Rodgers revealed that striker Daniel Sturridge could return to the pitch in Tuesday's League Cup semi-final match against London's „Chelsea“.
Last season, the Englishman managed to score 21 times in 29 „Premier“ league matches, but this year he has been sidelined since the „Reds“ victory against „Tottenham“ on August 31st.
The 25-year-old footballer is already training. Although it is not clear whether he will play in the cup game, Liverpool's manager says that Sturridge will most likely play in the „Premier“ league match against „West Ham“.
„He has completed his rehabilitation and his physical form is good“, – Rodgers told BT Sport.
„He will only have a few days to prepare for the match against „Chelsea“, but we will see how the situation unfolds. He will be ready to start either from the bench or in the starting lineup for the match against „West Ham““.
