"Liverpool" striker is suspected of violating FA betting rules.
The English Football Association issued a statement in which the Englishman is suspected of violations earlier this year, in January.
At that time, D. Sturridge was on loan to "West Bromwich Albion" club, but he played only six matches for this team.
The striker has until Tuesday, November 20, to respond to these allegations.
The statement states that rules were violated, which prohibit a player who directly or indirectly influences the outcome of an event to participate in betting, and this cannot be passed on to another person.
Also, a participant of betting cannot be a person who has inside information related to football, obtained by participating in a match or when it is not publicly available.
