D. Sturridge punished with a 4-month disqualification for involvement in betting

Daniel Sturridge will only be able to return to football next season.

FA has imposed a four-month ban and a £150,000 fine on the 30-year-old footballer, with whom "Trabzonspor" club terminated the contract on Monday due to his involvement in betting.

D. Sturridge was already suspended last summer for a few weeks, but only two of the 11 charges against him were proven at that time.

FA contested the decision and reached its conclusion after less than a year.

D. Sturridge was accused of passing information from the club to his brother and suggesting a bet on his transfer to "Sevilla," although the deal never went through.
