The "Panevėžys" football club will return to the "TOPsport A League" battles after a two-week break. The 28th round of the Lithuanian championship marks the second away game in Alytus against the local DFK "Dainava."

This will be the start of the fourth round; the previous three matches went somewhat better for the Panevėžys team. The first two matches ended in 0:0 draws, and in the third encounter, after quickly scored goals by Nicolás Gorobsovas and Ernestas Veliulis, they managed to win 2:0.

In the tournament table, the Panevėžys team sits in tenth place with 23 points. In turn, the Alytus club has achieved 7 wins, 8 draws, and 11 losses in 26 matches. The team, which demonstrates the second-best defense, has 29 points and is in seventh place. In their last match, Dainava played a goalless draw against FA "Šiauliai," while the Panevėžys team also recently shared points identically with Vilnius "Žalgiris" – 0:0.

Domantas Vaičekauskas, a player from Panevėžys, talked about the upcoming trip to Alytus and his debut in international competitions.

"The impressions are mixed; of course, it's very exciting to play in European competitions for the first time; I have been waiting for this for a long time. On the other hand, that joy and good emotions are almost entirely overshadowed by the team's overall performance and the match result. As for the injury that kept me out of the lineup, I experienced a stress fracture, which is quite unpleasant and unexpectedly prolonged, but I have already healed and am gradually returning,"

said the defender, sharing his thoughts with the fk-panevezys.lt website.

The match in Alytus will be played on Sunday, August 25. The kickoff is at 4 PM.
