Dainava" surpassed Telšiai's "Džiugas" in the "TOPsport A League

The Alytus DFK "Dainava" moved up one position in the "TOPsport A League" tournament table. In the 29th round, the team from Dainava scored two unanswered goals away and 2:0 (1:0) defeated Telšiai "Džiugas".

The visitors managed to score a quick goal. After the Telšiai team made a mistake near their own penalty area, Aaron Olugbogi provided an assist to Davor Rakič, who sent the ball to the net with a second touch.

A. Olugbogi made a very dangerous header in the middle of the half, but the ball was caught by Marius Paukštė. On the other side of the field, Airidas Mickevičius defended against a shot by Hirotaka Yamada.

In the second half, Nino Noordanus sent the ball to the crossbar with a header, while A. Mickevičius performed solidly once again. In the 68th minute, "Dainava" solidified their advantage with a goal from Stanislav Sorokin, assisted by Chibuike Nwosu, who had just come on as a substitute. Near the end of the match, Dmytro Mandryčenka could have also scored, but M. Paukštė saved the shot.

After this victory, "Dainava" now has 33 points and is in eighth place, while the Džiugas team, with one less point, sits in seventh place.
