Dainava unexpectedly defeated Kaunas district's Hegelmann team in an away match.

At the start of the 34th round of the "TOPsport A League" – a very important victory for Alytaus DFK "Dainava". After a turnaround at the beginning of the second half and scoring 2 quick goals, the players from Alytus defeated the Kauno rajonas "Hegelmann" team with a score of 2:1 (0:1).

The start of the confrontation was active – Matas Vareika shot very close to the goal in the very first minute, and just moments later, a ball kicked by Michael Thuique rolled close to the goal. The only danger created by the guests came in the 30th minute when Renatas Banevičius attempted a shot into the near corner of the goal, which was stopped by Arijus Bražinskas.

The goal came in the 36th minute, with M. Vareika, who deceived the opponent and made a precise shot after a pass from Esmilis Kaušinis, being the author. The players of Dainava equalized at the beginning of the second half when Gustas Zabita sent the ball into the net while attempting to make a pass. The guests did not stop there – Ode Abdullahi, impressively deceiving several opponents, made a pass to Davor Rakičius, who, left alone in front of the goal, scored.

In the 66th minute, the players from Alytus could have increased their lead when D. Rakičius found Aaron Olugbogi in the penalty area, but A. Bražinskas and E. Kaušinis defended against the latter's attempt together. Shortly after, Volodymyras Krynskis dealt with shots from Patrick Popescu and Njoya Abdelo Kadero. At the end of the match, confusion arose near the "Dainava" goal, but the fire caused by N. Abdelo Kadero and P. Popescu was extinguished, and the ball kicked by Lazaro Kojičius was blocked.

After the victory in the 34th round of the "TOPsport A League", the Dzūkai have 39 points in their account and, at least temporarily, caught up with the team from the Sun City that has the same number of points, while "Hegelmann" has 60 points and occupies the 2nd position in the tournament table.
