Danilo: I am disappointed because we lost on long passes

"Manchester City" defender Danilo felt very disappointed after the defeat in last night's derby, as "Manchester United" extended their victory with long passes.

The "Citizens" aimed to secure the Premier League title in front of their own fans, but after squandering a two-goal lead accumulated in the first half, they wasted it and will have to wait for the triumph.

Paul Pogba, who scored a brace, managed to respond to precise strikes from Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan in the second half, and defender Chris Smalling scored the winning goal.

"I feel sad and disappointed because we played really well," Danilo told the official "Man City" website. "However, we must turn the page as quickly as possible because we have another big challenge on Tuesday."

"I could name many reasons why we didn't win. Ultimately, they scored three goals and we scored two - that's the most important thing. We win together and lose together."

"After analyzing the match, we had more possession, we had control, they just used long passes and scored three goals. We played the same way we have all season, kept the same level, but it didn't work today."

"We need to focus on what we did wrong and improve, though we should not forget what we achieved throughout the season."

On Tuesday, "Man City" will face a return leg in the UEFA Champions League against "Liverpool". In the first leg, Pep Guardiola's men were unexpectedly defeated 3-0.
