England's national team and Real Madrid's defender David Beckham, speaking to the British newspaper "The Observer," said that one of the reasons for his poor performance in the European Championship is fatigue.
The 29-year-old defender missed two important penalty kicks in the matches against the French and Portuguese. Speaking to the newspaper, he said that the focus on players' physical preparation at Real Madrid's training sessions was much lower than at the club where he used to play before.
Beckham also mentioned personal problems as another reason. In recent months, the world press has been filled with reports about the player's personal life issues. There were rumors that he could be unfaithful to his wife, Victoria Beckham.
