Madrid's "Real" strategist Zinedine Zidane probably regrets now that last summer he allowed two forwards - Alvaro Morata and Mariano Diaz - to leave the team.
While Karim Benzema demonstrates very poor form, both mentioned footballers have already surpassed the 10-goal mark in other country's championships.
Last season, M. Diaz, who was the third forward in the "Real" ranks, gave an interview to the "Marca" newspaper, admitting that he is very happy in the "Lyon" team, but his dream will always be to wear the "Real" jersey again.
"It was not difficult to leave, because I already knew about it during the season. "Lyon" offered me a contract that I simply could not refuse, especially after Lacazette left the team.
Zidane was one of those people who advised me to choose this team. I knew I was making the right decision and now I am very happy playing in this club," M. Diaz said.
Finally, the forward was asked if there is any possibility of him returning to Madrid: "It really does not depend on me, but if such an opportunity arises, why not?
Returning to "Real" one day would be a dream come true. But as I said, now all my focus is on the "Lyon" team."
M. Diaz played this season in France in over 19 matches and scored 13 goals.
