The captain of the English national team David Beckham has become another player who will not help the Madrid club in Saturday's Spanish championship duel.
In addition to D.Beckham, in Saturday's duel, the following players will also not be able to help the Royal club: defensive midfielder Thomas Gravesen, left-back Roberto Carlos from Brazil, midfielder Pablo Garcia from Uruguay and center-back Jonathan Woodgate from England.
In the right flank, D.Beckham should be replaced by the Brazilian Cicinho, Raul Bravo should appear in the starting lineup instead of R.Carlos, and the center-back pair with Sergio Ramos should be Francisco Pavon or Ivan Helguera. Both of the latter have been recovering from injuries recently.
The only good news in the Royal club's camp is that the Spaniard Guti, who has been demonstrating excellent form lately, will be able to play against Valencia.
Meanwhile, in the opponents' camp, there are slightly more positive news. The team's leader Ruben Baraja, who has recovered from a jaw injury, should already play in Saturday's duel.
There is a possibility that the Argentine national team defender Roberto Ayala will return to the Valencia lineup against Real after a long rehabilitation, while it is certain that on Saturday we will not see left-back Vicente, forward Patrick Kluivert, and defensive midfielder Edu on the field, as they are recovering from different injuries.
There are also doubts before Saturday's duel regarding the Portuguese Hugo Viana and the Brazilian Fabio Aurelio. The former suffered a knee injury during training on Wednesday, while the latter, who plays in the left-back and defensive midfielder positions, is suffering from a viral infection.
In Friday's training, the team captain David Albelda suffered a minor injury, but it is not yet clear whether the Spaniard will be able to play against the Royal club.
Saturday's duel could be crucial in the battle for second place in the Spanish championship, as both teams currently have 51 points and share second place.
