Club veteran Dennis Bergkamp is considering the possibility of playing professional football next year. The 35-year-old striker previously said that this season would probably be his last.
Such thoughts were influenced by his excellent form at the beginning of this season. Although he was planned to play in a substitute role, the experienced player has not yet given up his place in the main lineup of the team coached by Arsene Wenger.
Furthermore, physical fitness tests showed that D.Bergkamp is faster this year than he was last year.
"Mr. Wenger brings up a lot of statistics and they show that in some matches I was faster than last year," Bergkamp told the "Sunday Mirror" newspaper. "If I can still play at this level, it will be hard to say 'no'."
"When I signed a one-year contract last season, I thought it would be my last year. But when this team's game improves, it's hard to stop. I think I can continue playing," he added.
