"DC United" coach Ben Olsen is eager to complete Wayne Rooney's transfer from Liverpool's "Everton" and claims that he would be a great addition to the entire MLS championship.
Rumors about the 32-year-old Englishman's departure to Atlanta have been circulating for a month, even though he only spent one season with the "Toffees" after returning to the team.
At the time, it was said that the striker could not agree with manager Sam Allardyce. He was dismissed, but recently it emerged that the club owners of "Everton" themselves would like to get rid of the veteran's huge salary.
"Interest in Wayne Rooney from our side exists and I think it exists from his side as well", Olsen said.
"I hope the deal goes through, because he is a very good player who can help us. He would be a great addition to the team."
This season, Rooney scored 11 goals and made three assists in all competitions.
