Around 800 noisy fans on Saturday welcomed one of the world's loudest strikers, Didier Drogba, arriving in China at Pudong airport.
Soccer fans loudly chanted the name of the Ivorian national team player, asked for autographs, and pushed to take photos.
"I am eagerly awaiting a new challenge in my career, as well as getting to know a new culture. The Chinese Super League is developing well and I am already planning to attend the championship match tonight," said the player who signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with Shanghai Shenhua.
It is speculated that the 34-year-old footballer will make his debut for his new club in a match against Shanghun Yatai, which will take place on Wednesday.
