De Jong feels unhappy in "Milan" club

Thirty-year-old defender expressed his frustration at not playing, but emphasized that he understands he will have to wait for his chance.

Goal.com reports that Nigel De Jong revealed that he feels unhappy about not playing in the starting lineup of AC Milan recently. The Dutchman was one of the key figures in the team last year and played in the first two games of the season. He even wore the captain's armband in the matches against Fiorentina and Empoli.

However, De Jong was dropped from the starting lineup after the defeat to Genoa in September and has not had many opportunities since then.

"Of course, I am unhappy about not playing. But I have to wait and use my opportunity when I get it," - said the former Manchester City midfielder to the journalists.

AC Milan managed to secure a victory in the weekend match against Sassuolo without De Jong's help, and the defender hopes that this will help the team extend their winning streak in the midweek game against Chievo.

"There is a good atmosphere in the team. We won the last match and need to maintain that good atmosphere. I like the current 4-4-2 formation, but it all depends on the opponents and the players we have," - concluded the conversation with journalists the Dutchman.

Mihajlovic's team currently occupies the tenth place in the Serie A standings.
