"Napoli" president Aurelio De Laurentiis continues to pour out grievances against Maurizio Sarri. The vice champions of Italy once again stated that the coach treated the club like a bank.
M. Sarri left "Napoli" this summer after three years of work and went to London's "Chelsea". The separation was not the most beautiful - he had a valid contract for two more years, but after disagreements with the same De Laurenttis, he was replaced by Carlo Ancelotti.
"At first, I thought Sarri was a coach who could work in our club for many years. I could have kept him for two more years because of the valid contract, but I realized that all the problems were related to money," said the son of the legendary Italian film director.
"You know, it's strange in this world where the media portrays that a contract no longer has any value. You put your signature on a contract, but then you don't respect it.
After signing a new contract with Sarri, I raised his former salary from 700 thousand euros to 1.5 million euros. Once I heard from him himself that when signing a new contract, he wanted to become rich.
Then I asked myself: where is the love of the coach for the city? I believed in it, but at the same time I thought, is he using me like a bank," added controversially De Laurentiis, who is evaluated differently in Italy.
