The Cameroonian club "JS Kabylie" striker scored the only goal for the visitors in the match, which ended in a 2-1 victory for "USM Alger". Dissatisfied fans of the Cameroonian club accompanied their players to the locker room by throwing various objects and rocks, which fatally injured Albert Ebosse.

The Algerian Interior Ministry has launched a criminal investigation.

Condolences were expressed to the footballer's family by the Algerian club and the President of the African Confederation, Issa Hayatou.
