The Kaunas "Žalgiris" football club, which started a training camp in Cyprus this week, has added another player to its roster. The 23-year-old midfielder Damjan Pavlović will now play in Kaunas.

The player, born in Belgium and holding dual citizenship of Belgium and Serbia, is moving to Kaunas from the strongest Croatian league team "Gorica."

While the season in Croatia is only halfway through, D. Pavlović has already played 10 matches in the first part of it and scored one goal. He also scored another goal in two matches in the Croatian Cup tournament.

Growing up in the Liège "Standard" system in Belgium, the young player wore the jerseys of Belgium's youth national teams as a teenager, but upon reaching adulthood, he decided to play for Serbia's youth national teams.

After spending two seasons in the top Belgian league, D. Pavlović later moved to Croatia and joined the "Rijeka" team, while the 2023 season was spent on loan at the top Swedish league club "Degerfors."

Having successfully completed a medical check in Kaunas, D. Pavlović will fly to Cyprus on Tuesday to join the team training in Limassol.
