The coach of the Spanish national team, Vicente Del Bosque, acknowledged that in the victorious match against Croatia his players did not demonstrate good football.
The European champions secured a 1-0 victory and advanced to the quarterfinals in Group C, claiming the first place.
"It is true that the match was not good, and that should worry us. Everything did not go according to plan," said Del Bosque.
However, he added: "We took a big step forward by reaching the knockout rounds. This motivates us a lot. The style and philosophy of the national team are good, as we have shown. This time, our first touches on the ball were not successful, so we couldn't show speed and intensity."
Regarding the opponent's game, the specialist said: "The Croats played well, they did not allow us near their goal, didn't leave us spaces to exploit and tried to 'catch us' with quick counterattacks. But we controlled the game."
