Bayern Munich defender Martin Demichelis refused to be included in the team application for the opening match of the German championship against "Wolfsburg". Argentinian did so because the team's coach Louis van Gaal did not include him in the starting lineup, instead forming a pair of center-backs with Daniel van Buyten and Holger Badstuber. "He simply asked not to be included in the lineup," said one of the Bayern executives Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. "I don't think it means he wants to leave the club, but we are of course disappointed with his decision." Bayern coach L. van Gaal also criticized the defender, saying that he must respect the decisions of the strategist.
