La Coruna is planning to sign Bayer Leverkusen striker Dimitar Berbatov this summer, according to the Spanish media.
It is said that the Bulgarian national team striker is the first in the list of "Deportivo" transfers this summer, and coach Javier Irureta has confirmed his approval to acquire the "Bayer" star at any cost, who scored 12 goals in 27 games in the Bundesliga this season.
This is not the first time "Bayer" has wanted to sign the 24-year-old Bulgarian - D. Berbatov was named as a candidate to replace the star Roy Makaay who left the club in 2003. This player was also of interest to Liverpool in the winter, but the English club acquired the Spaniard Fernando Morientes.
D. Berbatov is not the only "Bayer" player linked to the Galician club. "Deportivo" is also interested in an Argentine defender. The left-back will become a free agent this June and will certainly receive many offers.
Representatives of "Deportivo" did not comment on these rumors, only stating that the media often writes gossip.
