The match started with two attacks from the Žalgiris team. In the 5th and 6th minutes, the green and whites almost scored a goal, but goalkeeper Marius Poškus played excellently. As the first half progressed after a corner kick lifted by "Vėtra" players, Nerijus Sasnauskas almost scored a goal with his head. In the 32nd minute, Grudzinskas had a similar opportunity, but the defender also failed to score. In the 35th minute, Žalgiris player Čepas was brought down near the penalty area.
